With Christmas just around the corner I got to thinking about what to get my incredibly fussy Brother. There is just one year between us and the older we get the harder he is to buy for. No bottle of aftershave or gift voucher will do, he likes his gifts to have some thought to them, so when I was got the opportunity to review a product from CaseApp a genius idea struck me! CaseApp gives you the opportunity to create custom cases for your iPhone 5/5s/5c/6, iPad ,iPod and the Samsung Galaxy S3/4/5. They also have skins for a wide variety of mobile phones and laptops. There is a large bank of design there for you to choose from or you have the option to create your own using the images in your computer. You also have the option to create a collage, add text and clipart to your design to get it looking how you want.
I decided to create a custom skin for my brothers laptop, he has been a DJ for over 15 years and has recently started gigging again, he take his laptop to every gig so its blank front is the perfect spot for some advertisement. He recently had some shots done for his leaflets and business cards so I decided to use the same image and add some custom text. The design process was really simple once I uploaded the image I just had to add the text I wanted, it only took 5 minutes and the whole process is really simple and user friendly. I was really impressed with how the finished product looked on the screen and couldn’t wait for it to arrive, around 4 days later a reinforced envelope with CaseApp on the front dropped through my door.
I am amazed at how good the quality is of the image it looks just like the original and its not distorted at all. The text came out just how I wanted it to also and it really compliments the shading on the picture. The vinyl sticker feels really good quality, its a good thickness and has a matt finish which is ideal for putting onto a lid of a laptop.
The application was also really easy, mostly due to the fact that the skin is of such high quality and doesn’t rip easily. I was able to remove and re apply a couple of times until I got it in exactly the right position. I have had laptop skins in the past that are so over complicated to apply and the chances of taking them off to re position are slim to none.
It went on bubble and blemish free and looks really good, its a fab advertisement for his business and looks really professional. The laptop skins from CaseApp are priced at £22 which I think is a great price for such a well made product. My only reservation with the whole product is that the size is quoted as 15.6 inches which is the size of his laptop but the sticker is about n inch to small all the way around. His laptop does have a curved lid so it may be the reason that it doesn’t make a difference cosmetically though as it gives a border around the skin.
